Welcome to Borderless Living (“Publication”), operated by Borderless Media, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Borderless Living, including all content, subscriptions, communications, products, services, and related platforms operated through Substack or affiliated systems.

By subscribing to, accessing, or using Borderless Living, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Publication.

1. Overview of Borderless Living

Borderless Living publishes commentary, analysis, research, strategic perspectives, and informational content related to expatriation, relocation, sovereign planning, global mobility, financial systems, political risk, and related subjects.

All content reflects opinion, analysis, and editorial judgment.

Limited sharing through Substack’s built-in sharing functionality is permitted.

3. Subscription, Billing & Payment Policies

Borderless Living offers free and paid subscriptions through Substack and related payment processors.

By subscribing, you authorize recurring billing through Substack and its payment providers using the payment method associated with your account.

Subscriber Responsibilities

Subscribers are solely responsible for:

• Maintaining access to the email address associated with their subscription

• Monitoring renewal notices, receipts, and billing communications

• Managing cancellations through their Substack account

• Maintaining accurate account and payment information

• Verifying which email address or payment method was used for purchase

• Monitoring subscriptions associated with multiple email addresses or accounts

Failure to monitor or manage account information does not create an obligation for us to issue refunds.

Refund Policy

Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by us in writing.

Refunds are evaluated solely at our discretion.

We are not obligated to issue refunds for:

• Failure to cancel prior to renewal

• Failure to monitor email communications

• Duplicate or forgotten accounts

• Subscriber confusion regarding which email address was used

• Inactivity or failure to use the subscription

• Dissatisfaction with editorial positions, analysis, opinions, or content direction

• Technical issues caused by third-party providers outside our control

Account Verification Requirement

We are unable to investigate charges, modify subscriptions, or process refunds without sufficient account verification information.

Subscribers requesting support may be required to provide:

• The email address associated with the subscription

• Transaction identifiers

• Billing details

• Screenshots

• Other identifying information reasonably necessary to verify account ownership

If a subscriber cannot provide sufficient identifying information, we may be unable to locate the account or provide assistance.

We are not obligated to perform forensic account recovery or investigate unverifiable claims.

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first attempting to resolve the issue through customer support results in immediate suspension or permanent termination of access to Borderless Living and affiliated services.

We reserve the right to provide payment processors, financial institutions, dispute-resolution entities, and legal authorities with relevant records, including:

• Subscription status

• Renewal history

• Cancellation records

• Login/account information

• Customer support communications

• Transaction records

• Acceptance of these Terms

Fraudulent, abusive, or bad-faith chargeback activity may result in permanent account bans and denial of future access to our services.

4. User Conduct & Community Standards

We reserve the right to moderate all discussions, comments, and interactions associated with Borderless Living.

The following conduct is prohibited:

• Harassment, threats, intimidation, or abuse

• Defamation or knowingly false accusations

• Hate speech or unlawful discriminatory conduct

• Spam, solicitation, or commercial promotion

• Impersonation or fraudulent activity

• Plagiarism or unauthorized redistribution of content

• Coordinated disruption, brigading, or trolling

• Attempts to interfere with platform operations or other subscribers’ access

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict participation, suspend accounts, or permanently ban users at our sole discretion.

No refunds will be issued for suspended or banned accounts.

5. Privacy & Data Usage

Payment processing and subscription management are handled by Substack and its payment providers.

We do not directly store full payment card information.

By using the Publication, you acknowledge that certain account information, analytics, usage data, and communications may be processed through third-party systems including Substack.

We may collect anonymized or aggregated usage information to improve operations, analytics, security, and content strategy.

6. Plagiarism, Scraping & Unauthorized Use

Unauthorized copying, scraping, republication, or redistribution of Borderless Living content is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

• Mirroring articles or newsletters

• Commercially exploiting our research or frameworks

• Systematic archiving or extraction of content

We reserve the right to pursue:

• DMCA takedowns

• Platform complaints

• Account bans

• Contractual enforcement

• Civil litigation

We make no guarantees regarding:

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Modifications to the Publication or Terms

• Change pricing or subscription structures

• Remove or edit content

• Update these Terms at any time

Changes become effective immediately upon posting.

Continued use of the Publication constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

10. Termination & Account Restrictions

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate access to Borderless Living at our sole discretion, including for:

• Violations of these Terms

• Harassment or abusive conduct

• Chargeback abuse

• Fraudulent activity

• Unauthorized redistribution of content

• Bad-faith interactions with staff or subscribers

• Conduct we reasonably believe creates operational, legal, reputational, or security risk

Termination may occur without prior notice.

No refunds will be issued for terminated accounts.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota and applicable United States law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before initiating formal legal action, you agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting us directly.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to require disputes to be resolved through binding arbitration in Minnesota.

To the extent permitted by law:

• You waive any right to participate in class actions

• You agree disputes shall be resolved individually

• Venue for litigation shall exclusively reside in Minnesota

If we prevail in litigation or collection activity arising from violations of these Terms, we may seek recovery of reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs where permitted by law.
